The Arizona Cancer Center at the University of Arizona, established in 1976, provides services to all of Arizona. The Cancer Center focuses not only on patient care but also on basic and clinical research, prevention education and training.
The Center brings the power of research to cancer prevention and treatment, providing a direct link between the latest research discoveries and patient care. With over 300 world-class physician and scientist members with national and international reputations, its researchers have created more than 14 cancer-fighting drugs.
The Cancer Center is home of one of the largest Cancer Prevention and Control Programs among the nation’s 39 comprehensive cancer centers, leading research in breast, colon, lung, prostate, and skin cancer prevention. Their “bench to bedside” research has developed many techniques that have become worldwide standards of care.
